These two. If I’m being completely honest with you, I wasn’t exactly sure where my business was going to take me this year. It was in the late summer of last year when I really decided to lay down my business and pray through every client inquiry. That if I was meant to continue shooting weddings, God would provide. And it was just a few days later that I received an email from Jenna. And I knew. Maybe it was because she is a wedding photographer herself, or maybe it’s her love for Jesus and other people, but it was through her and our conversations that I realized I was meant to be a wedding photographer. That God will provide exactly the right clients. That it’s not about the income or the number I make, but the relationships and lasting friendships I have made with my brides.
So, Jenna, I just want you to know that your heart and believing in me has made such an impact on my business. And you guys, if you know Jenna, you know she has a way of making you feel like the most important person in the world. She displays and lives out loyalty and authenticity. It’s who she is to her very core. She’s passionate and loving, gentle and kind. And it was through her bridesmaids that I saw just the kind of friend she is. She’s incredible. So when I met Casey for the first time at their engagement session last fall, I knew he was someone special too. These two just have the kind of love that you dream of. Their wedding was nothing short of perfect. From the moment I arrived at their vacation rental on the shores (literally!) of Lake Chelan, I knew it was going to be a perfect day. It was just this last week that my husband asked me, “Do you enjoy the wedding days, or are they work to you?” And the answer was easy. I have days where I want to pinch myself because I can’t believe THIS is what I get to do for a living! You guys. When I walked into the home that Saturday morning, all of the bridesmaids dresses were hung perfectly next to Jenna’s perfect ivory gown. There was a peace in the room that I can’t explain. I think maybe a little bit of why I love Jenna so much is because her and her mom have the kind of relationship that I have with my mom. It’s the kind that well…for example, Jenna’s mom was her maid of honor. :)
I could write for days about Casey and Jenna. About every detail of their wedding day, from the perfect Tuscan landscape tucked in the hills of Lake Chelan, to the perfect golden sun that peeked out at just the right time for sunset portraits. From the authentic pasta bar at dinner to the toasts that had all of the guests in tears. From their romantic first dance to their white balloon exit. I’ll let the photos do the talking, but just WAIT until you see their favors! Baby succulents in wine cork planters!? Yes please! Everything from the beginning to the end of their wedding day was perfect. I’m in complete awe that God chose me to be the one to capture the day in so many people’s life that they dream of from childhood. It’s the greatest gift and privilege and an honor that I will never take for granted.
Casey and Jenna, thank you for reminding me why I do what I do. For displaying love unconditionally to each other and to everyone in your lives. I’m so thankful for you both and am so excited you’re finally MARRIED!!!!
